Course Description:

Jed and Ted’s Excellent Race kicks off along the scenic Los Angeles River bike path, right behind Canoga Park High School. The best address to use for the start line is:

From there, you'll enjoy a fully paved, out-and-back route along the south bank of the LA River. This relatively flat, fast course is perfect for runners of all levels.

What to Expect:

Our events are low-key, high-fun affairs themed after iconic '80s and '90s movies and TV shows.

• 🎬 Custom bibs, medals, and decorations
• 🧑‍🎤 Race directors in costume (you’re encouraged to dress up too!)
• 📸 Photos at the start line, turnarounds, and finish
• 🕒 Hand-timed races with published results

Course Details:

🏃‍♀️ 5K Course

• Out-and-back: 1.55 miles out, 1.55 miles back
• Mild elevation change: 55 ft
• Turnaround at a snack table with refreshments
• Return the same way to finish

🏃‍♀️ 10k Course

• Out-and-back: 3.1 miles out, 3.1 miles back
• Elevation gain: 134 ft
• Passes 5K turnaround/snack station
• Turnaround at the 10K banner (no aid here)
• Stop again at the 4.6-mile snack station on the way back

🏃‍♀️ Half Marathon Course

• Run the 10K course twice (double out-and-back)
• At mile 12.5, take our “Bogus Journey” — a 0.6-mile lap on the north bank of the river
• Finish strong with an 800-meter sprint visible to the crowd
• Elevation gain: 285 ft

Aid stations: Approximate mileage support at 0, 1.5, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 10.5, and 12 miles
